Terms of service

These terms apply when you buy a one-off report or a five-report pack from 1572035 B.C. LTD., operating as Canadian Grant Research (“we”, “us”). By placing an order you agree to them.
1. Who can buy
Our service is for registered charities, other qualified donees and grant writers or consultants buying for their work, in Canada outside Québec. We don’t currently accept orders from Québec.
2. Where-to-Apply Report
Five funders shortlisted and checked, so your grant time goes to the ones worth applying to.
A Where-to-Apply Report contains five sourced foundation reviews for one project, with historical gift evidence, current fit and access findings, public contacts taken from official funder pages, with the date checked, where published, and next steps. Unknowns are labelled. Closed or mismatched foundations count as reviews, not recommendations. Any appendix of up to 25 historical foundations is separate and may be unverified. Reports are delivered electronically as a PDF and XLSX spreadsheet by email or download. You don’t receive access to our database or software.
3. How ordering works
What counts as an opportunity?
"Opportunity" means a foundation funding program that (a) is open now, or has a published opening date or deadline within the next six months, (b) has no published rule that rules out the project as you described it, and (c) comes from a foundation with no reported gift to your organization in our latest CRA data.
It is not a promise that you are eligible or will be funded. If we can't find at least one, we tell you before payment and you pay nothing.
We currently take up to 20 projects a month. If we're full, we'll tell you when we can start. Send your project details for a free initial check. We'll email your free check within 2 business days. No payment needed. We confirm what’s included before you pay for a $79 one-off report.
Before payment, you receive a summary of the number and types of findings only; foundation names and detailed findings are supplied in the paid report. Renewals are clearly labelled. Closed, mismatched and unknown foundations are not open opportunities. An opportunity with a future opening date is not open now. Reports are individually reviewed and approved before delivery. Delivery is within three business days after confirmation of what’s included and payment.
4. What a report is, and isn’t
A report documents five foundation reviews and does not promise funding. It’s based on gifts reported in Canada Revenue Agency open data, which describe past giving, appear 14 to 36 months after the gifts are made, and aren’t verified by the CRA. Application processes and deadlines are checked on the date shown and can change. You are responsible for verifying details on each funder’s own site and for following each funder’s rules before applying. We are an independent research service, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Canada Revenue Agency, any other government body, or any information provider cited in our reports.
5. Prices, payment and tax
Prices are in Canadian dollars and payment is processed by Stripe. We don’t see or store your card details. We are not currently registered for GST/HST, so none is charged, and no PST applies to electronically delivered reports. If that changes, applicable taxes will be shown at checkout before you pay.
6. Corrections and refunds
If something in a report doesn’t fit your project details, tell us within seven days of delivery and we’ll make one free correction. If a report doesn’t meet what’s included as described on our website, we’ll correct it or refund the price you paid.
Five-report packs. A pack costs $349 CAD, paid once, for five reports covering five agreed projects. It is valid for six months from purchase. We confirm coverage before payment and agree what’s included and availability before each credit is used. Delivery is within three business days after scope agreement and use of a pack credit. The monthly project limit applies to pack projects too.
You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase if no reports have been used. You may request one free three-month extension before the pack expires. Unused reports are not refundable after expiry. Each delivered report has the correction-or-refund protection described above; an individual pack report’s refundable price is $69.80 CAD.
7. Using your report
You may use a report for your own organization, or, if you are a grant writer, share it with the client charity it was prepared for. You may present reports to that client under your own branding; the research credit line stays in place. Please don’t resell, publish or redistribute reports. We keep the project details you send us confidential and use them only to prepare and support your order (see our privacy notice).
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, correction or refund is your only remedy, our total liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, including any grant not awarded. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the version shown when you order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
