Send your brief first. Receive a counts-only coverage summary before paying; candidate names and detailed findings belong in the paid report. What the research check includes.
You are buying research and screening, not guaranteed funding. We only offer a paid report when screening finds at least one open or dated route from a funder that does not already support you.
Research for your next funding decision
Five foundation reviews
We investigate five candidates found through relevant past giving. Each review explains project fit, geography, applicant rules, costs, timing and access. A rejected candidate counts as a completed review, never as a recommended prospect.
Current rules and public contacts
Dated official-source checks show whether to apply, enquire, wait or skip. We include public grants email, phone or contact-form details taken from official funder pages, with the date checked. Missing rules or contacts are marked unknown.
Gift evidence with years
Examples of relevant past gifts, with amounts and the CRA reporting year, so you can see why each foundation is on your list.
A PDF and spreadsheet
Five review decisions, sources, any verified deadlines and your next steps. An optional appendix contains up to 25 historical candidates, clearly separated from reviewed recommendations.
Back-test on CRA qualified-donee data, returns for fiscal years ending 2023 and 2024. Past patterns don't guarantee future results. Read the method and its limits.
A complete fictional sample
Example River Learning Society is fictional. Its project and $5,000 budget are invented; the funder rules and dates are real, checked on 21 October 2026. No real charity, client relationship, past gift or grant award is represented.
The example asks about a new volunteer river-sampling and shoreline-education pilot in Ottawa, Ontario, for May–September 2027. It shows one route to check first, one upcoming programme, one lower-priority enquiry and two candidates to skip. No project eligibility or award is promised.

The public spreadsheet contains fixed example amounts, so it can be read without recalculation. Individual funder staff contacts and real-charity gift records are omitted from this demonstration. A commissioned report includes public contact routes taken from official funder pages, with the date checked, and relevant historical evidence where available.

Request a coverage checkAgree the research scope before payment
We confirm your project, location, costs, timing and existing funders. Before payment, you receive counts only: open or dated new-funder routes, enquiries, future possibilities and exclusions. Candidate names and detailed findings are supplied in the paid report. We offer a $79 report only if we can substantiate five reviews and identify at least one open or dated route from a funder that does not already support you. Renewals do not count toward that minimum. Closed, mismatched and unknown candidates are not open opportunities. A dated route may open later; it is not a promise that applications are open now or that you are eligible. You can decline at no cost. Paid reports remain on hold until our report-quality tests pass.
Our promise
If a report doesn't meet the scope described on this page, we'll correct it or refund the price you paid. That is the only remedy, and our liability is limited to the price you paid. We don't promise or guarantee any grant.
How it works
- Send your brief. Your charity number, project, area served, timing, province and roughly how much you're looking to raise.
- Review the scope before paying. Receive a counts-only summary and learn whether there is at least one open or dated route from a new funder. Read exactly what you are buying. You can decline at no cost.
- Pay once, when reports are available. After our quality tests pass, you accept the confirmed scope and pay; delivery is within three business days.
- One scope correction within seven days if something doesn't fit your brief.
Request a coverage check
Coverage enquiries only for now. We will not request payment or accept a paid order until our report-quality tests pass. You can decline at no cost; sending this form is not an order.
Plain limitations
- CRA returns describe past giving. Gifts appear 14 to 36 months after they're made.
- A past gift is not an invitation. Many foundations fund only charities they already know, or accept requests by invitation only.
- A charity's registered address may not be the area it serves.
- The CRA publishes what charities report and doesn't verify it.
- Application routes and deadlines change. Verify on the funder's site before applying.
Five documented reviews. No promised number of open grants or funding awards.
Questions about foundation grants and this service
Do you cover academic research or individual grants?
No. We research foundations for Canadian charities and their grant writers, outside Québec. We do not find university research awards, scholarships or grants for individuals.
Are you part of the Canada Revenue Agency?
No. We combine public charity records with official funder information and other cited sources. Each report identifies its sources and check dates. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Canada Revenue Agency, any other government body, or the information providers we cite.
Will this get us a grant?
No. You are buying five documented foundation reviews, which may lead to enquiries, future-cycle leads or exclusions. Each foundation decides whom it funds.
How current is the data?
This report uses CRA returns for fiscal years ending 2023 and 2024. Gifts show up 14 to 36 months after they're made. Current rules and access for all five reviewed candidates are checked by hand and dated in each report.
What if there are no open grants for us?
We give you a counts-only summary before payment. If we cannot identify at least one open or dated route from a funder that does not already support you, we do not offer a paid report. Enquiries, renewals, closed routes and mismatches do not meet that minimum. A future dated route is not open now, and no funding is guaranteed. Read the scope.

What we collect
Business contact information only: your name, role, work email and organization, plus the details of your brief (charity number, project, area served, timing, province, funding request). Our reports don't include directors' names.
How we use it
Only to check coverage, deliver your order and follow up on it. We don't sell or share your information, and we don't use tracking or analytics on this site. Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details.
"Notify me" requests from Québec
If you choose Québec on the form, we keep only an anonymous count (date, province, and whether you're a charity or a grant writer) to gauge interest. We keep your name, organization and work email only if you tick "Tell me when it's available". We use them for that one message and nothing else, and we delete them once it's sent or when you ask. We collect the minimum needed, in line with Québec's privacy law (Law 25).
Unsubscribe, access and deletion
Every marketing email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@canadiangrantresearch.ca with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly, and always within 10 business days. To see, correct or delete your information, email hello@canadiangrantresearch.ca.

Terms of service
Last updated: October 21, 2026
These terms apply when you buy a one-off report from 1572035 B.C. LTD., operating as Canadian Grant Research (“we”, “us”). By placing an order you agree to them.
1. Who can buy
Our service is for registered charities, other qualified donees and grant writers or consultants buying for their work, in Canada outside Québec. We don’t currently accept orders from Québec.
2. What you get
A Foundation Research Check contains five sourced foundation reviews for one project, with historical gift evidence, current fit and access findings, public contacts taken from official funder pages, with the date checked, where published, and next steps. Unknowns are labelled. Closed or mismatched candidates count as reviews, not recommendations. Any appendix of up to 25 historical candidates is separate and may be unverified. Reports are delivered electronically as a PDF and XLSX spreadsheet by email or download. You don’t receive access to our database or software.
3. How ordering works
This limited launch stops at 10 briefs or 60 days from 21 October 2026, whichever comes first. Coverage enquiries are open; paid reports remain on hold until our report-quality tests pass.
Once reports are available, delivery is within three business days after scope confirmation and payment.
4. What a report is, and isn’t
A report documents five foundation reviews and does not promise funding. It’s based on gifts reported in Canada Revenue Agency open data, which describe past giving, appear 14 to 36 months after the gifts are made, and aren’t verified by the CRA. Application routes and deadlines are checked on the date shown and can change. You are responsible for verifying details on each funder’s own site and for following each funder’s rules before applying. We are an independent research service, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Canada Revenue Agency, any other government body, or any information provider cited in our reports.
5. Prices, payment and tax
Prices are in Canadian dollars and payment is processed by Stripe. We don’t see or store your card details. We are not currently registered for GST/HST, so none is charged, and no PST applies to electronically delivered reports. If that changes, applicable taxes will be shown at checkout before you pay.
6. Corrections and refunds (single reports)
If something in a report doesn’t fit your brief, tell us within seven days of delivery and we’ll make one scope correction. If a report doesn’t meet the scope described on our website, we’ll correct it or refund the price you paid.
7. Using your report
You may use a report for your own organization, or, if you are a grant writer, share it with the client charity it was prepared for. Please don’t resell, publish or redistribute reports. We keep the briefs you send us confidential and use them only to prepare and support your order (see our privacy notice).
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, correction or refund is your only remedy, our total liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, including any grant not awarded. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the version shown when you order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
