Canadian Grant Research privacy notice

Last updated: October 29, 2026

We use your business contact details and project details to assess fit, prepare your report and provide support. Please do not include information about individual beneficiaries, health records, banking details or other sensitive personal information.

Our website runs on Vercel. Resend delivers form emails to our Gmail business inbox. These services may process information outside Canada. We keep enquiry and report working records in our business inbox and private working storage for no longer than 12 months, unless a specific legal obligation requires otherwise. We keep only necessary transaction records separately, without the full project details. You can ask for access, correction or deletion through our published business contact address.

We use AI to help research public funding sources and check report claims. Before using our business Anthropic API, we remove contact details and non-public identifying information and prepare a minimal project description. We do not send the original project details, private attachments or beneficiary information to an AI checker. TypeSafe (an AI classification service) is used only in testing on public or fictional material, not on customer briefs.

Our providers retain operational records under their own policies, including limited security, legal and backup exceptions. We do not promise immediate removal from every provider backup. Deletion requests are handled across our working copies and relevant business email, with provider requests where needed.

Service providers: we use Vercel (website and form), Resend (email delivery and deadline-list subscriber storage), Google Gmail (our inbox), Stripe (payments) and AI providers such as Anthropic to help research and check reports. Some of these providers store or process information in the United States. We keep project details for up to 12 months, then delete them; order records are kept as required for tax purposes. Privacy questions: hello@canadiangrantresearch.ca.

Optional visitor analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they use, which websites refer them and how long the site is active on their screen. Google receives page and browser information and uses first-party cookies to distinguish visits. We remove query strings and page fragments from the page address sent to Analytics, and send only the referring website's origin. We do not send form contents, names, email addresses or project details to Analytics. Advertising features and automatic form tracking are off. Google may process this information outside Canada, including in the United States. How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Analytics stays off until you choose “Allow analytics”. “No thanks” leaves it off, and we honour browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. You can change your choice through “Analytics settings” in the footer. We remember your choice for up to 60 days; Analytics cookies expire within 60 days of being set. Detailed event and user data retention in Analytics is set to 14 months. The user-data retention period restarts when you return; aggregated reports may remain longer. Turning analytics off stops collection and removes our Analytics cookies from your browser, but does not erase information already processed by Google.

Spring deadline-list emails

If you choose the separate deadline-list signup, we use your email, optional first name and province to send the free list and one early-January reminder. We record the consent wording, date, confirmation and signup page in our separate CGR Resend subscriber account. We keep these subscriber details until you unsubscribe or for 24 months without activity. Unconfirmed requests expire after 48 hours. Unsubscribing removes the deadline-list contact record immediately; email delivery logs and provider backups remain subject to the provider policies described above. This signup is separate from sending project details and does not create an order.

"Notify me" requests from Québec

If you choose Québec on the form, we keep only an anonymous count (date, province, and whether you're a charity or a grant writer) to gauge interest. We keep your name, organization and work email only if you tick "Tell me when it's available". We use them for that one message and nothing else, and we delete them once it's sent or when you ask. We collect the minimum needed, in line with Québec's privacy law (Law 25).

Unsubscribe, access and deletion

Every marketing email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@canadiangrantresearch.ca with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly, and always within 10 business days. To see, correct or delete your information, email hello@canadiangrantresearch.ca.
