The pattern to notice
"Citizen science" and "research" are treated very differently. Describe public education and participation honestly, and keep research, travel and equipment purchases separate in your budget.
Want this done for your project?
Tell us about your project and we'll check which foundations fit it, using CRA gift records to find funders that have supported work like yours, then checking each one's current rules on its own website. Checking fit is free, and you see what we found before you pay. If nothing is open now or opening soon from a foundation new to you, you don't pay. What counts as an opportunity?
